Shelly Doucet
Director of Planned GivingBorn in south Louisiana (very near but not actually on the bayou), Shelly is a certified Cajun who practiced law in Louisiana and Mississippi before finding a new home in Kansas City and new career in fundraising.
Shelly discovered public radio as a kid with KRVS 88.7 Radio Acadie and has been a loyal KCUR listener and sustainer for the past two decades. As a fundraising professional, she has raised money for domestic violence survivors, public school children, and urban-serving teachers; helping people achieve their philanthropic goals brings her great joy.
In her spare time, Shelly enjoys reading, traveling, playing mah-jongg, and raising two rowdy boys with her Eagle Scout husband.
You can reach her at doucets@umkcfoundation.org.
