Chris Matthews On 'Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero'

He was a man who knew pain, admired courage and hated boredom.

John F. Kennedy was many things to many people. Jackie Kennedy called her husband "elusive" and "unforgettable." To Chris Matthews, the Hardball host who's written a new biography of JFK, Kennedy was "a fighting prince, never far from trouble, never accepting the world he found, never wanting to be his father's son.

"He was," Chris Matthews has said, "a far greater hero than he ever wished us to know."

Monday on Up to Date, host Steve Kraske talks with the Hardball moderator and host of the syndicated NBC News–produced panel discussion program, The Chris Matthews Show, about his new book: Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero.
