On Monday'sUp to Date, we talk with Mark Leibovich, The New York Times Magazine’s chief national correspondent and author of This Town: Two Parties and a Funeral-Plus, Plenty of Valet Parking!-in America's Gilded Capital,  about how the elbow rubbing game works inside the beltway and why getting your name in print makes the difference between success and obscurity in the capital city.

  • Mark Leibovich is The New York Times Magazine’s chief national correspondent. He previously worked at the Washington Post, where he wrote about national politics and the United States technology sector for the Post’s Business section. Mark Leibovich on The Daily Show:

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
