How JFK's Death Changed The Secret Service

The shock of the Kennedy assassination stunned the nation, but it also sparked a massive review of how the Secret Service operated.

In the first part of Monday's Up to Date, we talk with Clint Hill, the Secret Service agent who protected Jackie Kennedy in Dallas and beyond, about his role that day and how it changed him and the agency watching out for the president.

Guest:

  • Clint Hill, former Secret Service agent and former assistant director of the Secret Service

HEAR MORE: Clint Hill and co-author Lisa McCubbin speak at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at Unity Temple on The Plaza, 707 W. 47th St., Kansas City, Mo. For tickets, contact Rainy Day Books.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
