There's still no word from Arrowhead officially announcing that Andy Reid is the new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Reid has been at the team's offices with Chiefs owner Clark Hunt since early this afternoon.ESPN and NFL.com have been reporting since this morning that the team has come to an agreement with the former Philadelphia coach.  NFL.com said in mid-day that it was a matter of working out some final contract details.  But the dotting of i's and crossing of t's has taken longer than they expected.

Chiefs coach candidate Andy Reid coached the Philadelphia Eagles for 14 years before he was fired on Monday for two straight sub-par seasons. Reid led the Eagles to the Superbowl after the 2004 season before they lost to New England.

Earlier in the day, the Chiefs made it official with the departure of general manager Scott Pioli after four years in Kansas City.
