The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will be performing this Wednesday through Saturday at the Carlsen Center. Tyrone Aiken is now executive director of the Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. and stopped by our studios to talk about the company's upcoming performances.

Kansas City, MO – For more than 20 years, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has maintained a second home here in Kansas City. The local organization hosts the dance company?s performances here, fundraises and runs educational and outreach programs like the Ailey Dance Camp. Tyrone Aiken is now executive director of the Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. He stopped by our studios to tell us about the company?s upcoming performances this Wednesday through Saturday (September 6-9,2006) at the Carlsen Center. They?ll present several dances for the first time in Kansas City, including artistic director Judith Jamison?s new ballet Reminiscin?.
