Feud Over Wind Power in Kansas

Kansas City, Missouri – Ranchers in central Kansas are feuding over wind power. The Flint Hills area has suffered a long slide in population and economic decline. Some see the wind there as an untapped resource that could help the struggling region stay economically viable, without interfering with the historic ranching economy, or vast stands of native grass. They want to erect huge electricity generating turbines on the prairie. Others see an ugly industrial incursion on pristine land that will ruin the hills for the benefit of out-of-state companies and a few landowners. KCUR's Frank Morris reports.
