Kansas City, MO – Kansas City Missouri Mayor Mark Funkhouser hit some of his first major obstacles this week. Critics questioned his judgment over his acceptance of a free Hybrid Civic from a local car dealership. And his controversial appointment of an activist against illegal immigration to the parks board prompted almost unanimous disapproval from the city council. But at the same time, phone calls supporting the new parks commissioner flooded Funkhouser's office. KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross has this story.
