Kansas City, Missouri – The downtown performing arts scene gets a shot of caffeine this week with the opening of a play about farmers, pigs and government bureaucracy. As KCUR's Steve Walker reports, the Greg Kotis play Pig Farm makes for a pungent kick-off to the fall theater season.

Performances are at the Next Space, 512 E. 18th St starting Aug. 23 and continue at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays through Sept. 15.
