A group of opponents is collecting petitions to try to scuttle the planned Burlington Northern Santa Fe Logistics Park near Gardner by making the tax breaks subject to voter approval.

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius vetoed a bill today that would have imposed new restrictions on late-term abortions.

Sebelius did sign a bill allowing Kansans to legally own fully automatic weapons and sawed-off shotguns.

The US Supreme Court refused to hear the lethal injection appeal of convicted murderer Michael Taylor of Kansas City.

Former Kansas City Mayor and state senator Charles Wheeler is off the ballot for State Treasurer because he failed to file required financial disclosure statements.
