  • A group of opponents is collecting petitions to try to scuttle the planned Burlington Northern Santa Fe Logistics Park near Gardner by making the tax breaks subject to voter approval.
  • Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius vetoed a bill today that would have imposed new restrictions on late-term abortions.
  • Sebelius did sign a bill allowing Kansans to legally own fully automatic weapons and sawed-off shotguns.
  • The US Supreme Court refused to hear the lethal injection appeal of convicted murderer Michael Taylor of Kansas City.
  • Former Kansas City Mayor and state senator Charles Wheeler is off the ballot for State Treasurer because he failed to file required financial disclosure statements.
