  • The ACORN voter-rights organization is suing the Missouri Department of Social Services and the Kansas City, Jackson County and St. Louis election boards, alleging that they have not followed federal requirements to register poor people to vote.
  • The Missouri Senate has given first-round approval to a health care bill that includes a revised version of Governor Matt Blunt's Insure Missouri program.
  • The Missouri House passed a controversial bill invalidating a court decision that could have forced Aquila to dismantle a Cass County power plant it built without county zoning approval.
  • Jayhawk guard Mario Chalmers has declared for the NBA draft, but says he won't hire and agent and still could possibly return to KU next year

  • Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
