Kansas City, MO –

  • The Kansas City, Missouri School District will have to make significant and consistent improvement if it is going to achieve full accreditation by 2010. That's the finding of a state review of the district conducted last week.
  • Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius says she opposes a proposal to suspend gasoline taxes this summer.
  • Sebelius' ongoing battle with the legislature over coal fired power plants took a new turn when the Senate attached the power plants to the bill to create incentives for an intermodal hub near Gardiner.

  • Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
