Kansas City, MO –

  • Jim Ryun and Lynn Jenkins are formally in the race to challenge Kansas Congresswoman Nancy Boyda. Ryun challenged Jenkins to sign a pledge not to run negative ads. But Jenkins said the offer comes after Ryan has already begun negative campaigning.
  • Barack Obama is in St. Louis for a fundraiser tonight, and Republican Governor Matt Blunt was ready for the occasion with an accusation that Obama's position on taxes would be bad for the economy. Obama has stated that if he were president, people earning less than $75,000 would receive a tax cut and senior citizens making less than $50,000 would not pay income tax on social security.

  • KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
