After more than 24 hours tension, Independence still isn't allowed to take over 7 Kansas City school buildings. The two districts are trying to arrange a Saturday meeting on the matter.

UMKC Chancellor Guy Bailey is headed back for Texas. The chancellor announced today that he is the sole finalist for the job of President at Texas Tech in Lubbock.

Opponents of giving Kansas children of illegal immigrants in-state tuition say they are not discouraged by the Supreme Court's refusal to hear their case.
