Kansas City, MO – Kansas City's east side won a victory in fight over light rail. A proposal would extend a light rail line an extra two miles down Prospect to 63rd Street.

The Unified Governments Board of Commissioners approved a budget, lowering property taxes but hiking some fees.

The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art has two locations near the Kansas City Art Institute and plans to open a third downtown in November.

State and local officials say Kansas State would be the best site for a new national biodefense lab.
