  • Jackson County Prosecutor Jim Kanatzar weill not seek the death penalty for Harrell Johnson, accused of killing the little girl known as Precious Doe. Kanatzar says it's partly because defense attorneys agreed to having the case tried by a Jackson County jury.
  • Kansas Republican Party Chair Chirs Kobach praises John McCain's choice of Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.
  • Governor Palin will make her first Missouri appearance with McCain in a St. Louis suburb tomorrow.
  • Kansas Labor Secretary Jim Garner says the national economic downturn is now affecting the Kansas job market.
