When it comes to self expression, artist, poet and musician Jason Biggers knows few boundaries. In fact, his work reflects a life of crossing the cultural divide?from El Paso, Texas to Mexico and beyond to Germany, Canada and the Philippines. Biggers' art is influenced by Mexican folk art, urban graffiti, pop art and comics. He's also a member of the Latino Writers Collective, and performs his spoken word poetry. By Susan B. Wilson

Kansas City, MO – An exhibit of his paintings at the Writer's Place links his interest in visual arts to poetry. KC Currents' Susan Wilson stopped by to talk to Jason Biggers about his work.
Biggers' art and poetry are on display at the Writer's Place in Kansas City, Missouri. And he'll be reading with the Latino Writers Collective at Breaking Pi?atas, a cultural performance including literature, drama and music at UMKC's University Center on Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
