Kansas City, MO – Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser's budget proposal would lay off almost twice as many city employees as the city manager proposed

The Kansas Senate approved an energy bill allowing two new coal-fired power plants.

The American Bankruptcy Institute released figures yesterday showing filings in Missouri and Kansas were up nearly 20 percent.

Missouri state senators are backing the renewal of horse slaughtering in the U-S, decrying animal rights activists and touting the benefits of horse meat as food.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
