Kansas City, MO – Two Kansas Senators say they're confident Guantanamo detainees won't be coming to Fort Leavenworth.

A comparison of wages against health insurance costs shows that insurance is increasingly unaffordable for families in Kansas.

House Democrats in Jefferson City blasted Republicans over potential plans to de-fund a program that supplements teacher income. The Career Ladder program provides extra pay to teachers who take on extra duties.

Missouri lawmakers attempted only one override during their annual veto session yesterday. It was of a bill that would have added new accountability measures for spending federal stimulus money, and would have provided every lawmaker a key to the Capitol Dome.
