Kansas City, MO – Kansas Speedway is announcing a second NASCAR weekend for 2011.

Olathe is one of two school districts in Kansas getting federal money to improve the teaching of history.

Missouri shoppers this weekend took advantage of the state's annual sales tax holiday on back-to-school items, which included clothing, school supplies and computers.

Kansas is getting its financial reward for adopting a tougher seat belt law. An 11 million dollar check will be handed over to Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson by an official of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Student leaders at MU are working with school officials to find an approved place for tailgating before football games.
