KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After months of anticipation, the Missouri Board of Education turns its sights today on loss of accreditation of Kansas City Schools. It expects a report from the Education Commissioner, who has, in hand, a stunning set of recommendations from the Kansas City Mayor.

A group of political commentators told an audience at Fort Hays State University that Sam Brownback's first year as governor of Kansas has gone relatively well for him until recently, that is. Kansas Public Radio's Bryan Thompson has more.

Two Kansas will be inducted in to the USA Track and Field hall of fame this weekend. Maurice Greene once held bragging rights as the world's fastest human. Bob Timmons, as a coach, developed some of the world's greatest athletes.

A lawsuit has been filed that challenges the legality of a new fund to offer state incentives to science or technology companies.
