‘Paycheck Protection’ Bill Heads To Governor Nixon’s Desk
The Missouri House has given final passage to a bill that would limit labor unions' ability to deduct dues and fees from the paychecks of public employees. The measure would require unions to get written permission every year to deduct dues from paychecks. While it would only apply to public employees, unions for first responders would be exempt. Prevailing Wage Exemption For Maintenance Likely Dead
It appears that Democrats in the Missouri Senate have successfully stopped legislation that would have redefined what constitutes a maintenance project and exempted those being done on public property from the state's prevailing wage requirement.
