Many farmers are working past retirement age.  Players from the Kansas Royals and Sporting Kansas City have been named to their league’s All-Star teams.  An elk herd is thriving in southeast Missouri after conservation efforts.

Aging Farmers Reluctant To Retire, Pass On Land

Working beyond retirement is a fairly common refrain these days. In 2012, 5 percent of the U.S. workforce was beyond retirement age. But farmers seem to work longer than most. In the last Agriculture Census 25 percent of all farm operators were over 65 years old.

Royals And Sporting Players Selected As All Stars

It was a big weekend for All-Star announcements in Kansas City.  Both the Kansas City Royals and Sporting KC had multiple players named to their respective league’s All Star teams.

After Conservations Efforts, Elk Herd Thriving In Missouri

Missouri conservation officials say they are pleased with the way a three-year effort to restore elk to the southeastern part of the state is going.  The last group of elk arrived at the Peck Ranch conservation area this spring, bringing the total to around 100 animals.
