The Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph settled a wrongful death case out of court with a family who say their son committed suicide after being sexually abused by a priest. The Kansas City area is under a heat advisory today. A famous Steinway is available for anyone to play in Overland Park.
KC Diocese Settles Sex Abuse Death Case
A surprise ending to what may have been a landmark abuse case against the Kansas City-St. Joseph Catholic Diocese. Both sides reached a settlement in the middle of jury selection as trial was to begin in Jackson County Circuit Court. The Diocese will pay $2.25 million.
Heat Advisory Issued for Kansas City Area
Temperatures could hit as high as 98 degrees Tuesday with the heat index reaching 108 degrees, but those temperatures aren’t expected to last long. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Kansas City area. It begins at noon and lasts until 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Vladimir Horowitz’s Steinway Available For All To Play
For six decades, classical pianist Vladimir Horowitz performed for concert audiences around the world. Horowitz died in 1989, but the Steinway grand piano that accompanied him on tour is still touring North America. Horowitz’s concert grand Steinway piano arrived Wednesday at the Schmitt Music Company in Overland Park, Kan. And through July 11, visitors will have a chance to play the instrument.
