In the months after the fall of Baghdad, largely unforeseen circumstances forced US soldiers into many roles for which they were never trained, and fundamentally changed the United States Army. That's according to Army's just published history of that time, On Point II, Transition to the New Campaign. Speaking with KCUR's Frank Morris, lead author Donald Wright says that in spring 2003, US soldiers suddenly found themselves in uncharted territory.
