Argentinian-born artist Ana Maria Hernando's paintings, drawings, and prints layer designs, like a lacy mantilla worn in church, with images of plants and insects.

Kansas City, MO – A new solo exhibition at Kemper at the Crossroads called "Ana Maria Hernando: When the Women Sing," includes paper-cut drawings using petal-shaped leftovers from prints, and an installation with colorful hand-crocheted Peruvian petticoats. KCUR's Laura Spencer met up with Hernando in the gallery.
