Shooting Suspect Arrested

By Marshall Griffin, St. Louis Public Radio

Jefferson City, MO – A man suspected of shooting to death three people and wounding a fourth in central Missouri is now in custody.

23-year-old Joshua Maylee was initially listed as a person of interest in the murders, which happened near the town of Holt's Summit in Callaway County, just north of Jefferson City.

Sergeant Robert Bruchsaler with the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad says Maylee was apprehended in Cooper County, which is west of Columbia.

"The investigation is still ongoing, and investigators are...been deployed to (the) Cooper County area for interviews and evidence retrieval," says Bruchsaler.

No charges have been filed yet.

The lone survivor, 41-year-old Gina Werdehausen, was taken to University Hospital in Columbia, which underwent a lockdown yesterday (Wednesday) over fears that the shooter would look for her there.

The deceased are 46-year-old Jeffrey Werdehausen, 48-year-old Eugene Pinet, and 57-year-old Jackie Pinet.
