Rep. Kevin Yoder, R-Kansas, meets with constituents after an event raising awarness about homeless veterans at the World War I Museum.

U.S. Congressman Kevin Yoder says it remains to be seen if Kansans will back presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in November.

Though Yoder has endorsed Trump, he waited to do so until after Ted Cruz and other candidates had dropped out of the race.

“My position is I support the nominee,” says Yoder.

Yoder says while Trump wasn’t his first choice, he doesn’t think Hillary Clinton reflects Kansas values.

“Kansas – and Missouri – will both have to look at that and decide whether they want to stay the course with President Obama’s policies and the divisions and lack of solutions in Washington or try to go a different way,” Yoder says.

Yoder, who is attending several Memorial Day remembrances this weekend, hasn’t publicly endorsed any Kansas candidates.

Yoder faces a primary challenge in Greg Goode, an Army veteran who describes himself as “very conservative.” Yoder says his focus is his work in Washington and his own reelection campaign.
