Kauffman Foundation CEO To Step Down

Tom McDonnell, president and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, will leave the organization at the end of the fiscal year.

In a release, the Foundation says because of personal plans, McDonnell is unable to make the long-term commitment the organization needs to see through a multi-year strategic plan effort.

"When I accepted this position in 2012, I did so knowing that we had to take some significant steps to reinforce our commitment to Kansas City while continuing to deliver impact in the areas of education and entrepreneurship," McDonnell said in the release. "It has been a privilege to work with our talented team, and I am very pleased with the progress we have made during my tenure."

Wendy Guillies will become acting president and CEO on July 1. McDonnell will remain with the foundation to advise the Board of Trustees.
