Former Dean Of UMKC Bloch School Dies

The former dean of the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s business school died Tuesday.

Teng-Kee Tan was named dean of the Bloch School of Management in 2009. Tan, who was in his 60s, died “peacefully,” surrounded by family in Seattle, the Kansas City Star reports, citing an email from the current dean, David Donnelly.

During Tan’s tenure, the Bloch School received many national accolades for its entrepreneurship programs. But earlier this year, UMKC lost four years of rankings from the Princeton Review after an outside investigation determined the university submitted inflated data about the programs.
