Segment 2, beginning at 22:30: Mental health resources in Kansas City.

A shortage of pyschiatrists across the Kansas City area has some waiting eight weeks for an appointment. Meanwhile, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people age 10-34, according to the National Institute of Mental Heath. If you or someone you know is in crisis — whether they are considering suicide or not — please call the 24-hour, toll-free Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) to speak with a trained crisis counselor.
