On Tuesday's Up to Date, three of the participants from TEDxKC join Steve Kraske for a conversation on innovation and risk-taking. From finding value for the user in innovative technology to empowering girls of color to become innovators in STEM fields, we discover what drives visionary individuals to "defy impossible."

- Kimberly Bryant is an engineer who founded Black Girls Code to introduce programming and technology to a new generation of coders; coders who will become builders of technological innovation and of their own futures.
- Jared Ficklin is a Fellow at frog design. He favors effective over expensive and form following emotion. When not engaged at frog, Jared is co-director of the Austin Public Skatepark Action Committee and advocates for public skate parks that create innovative infrastructure and engage culture and build community.
- Mike Lundgren is Director of Innovation Strategy for Kansas City-based marketing firm VML. Since 2009 Mike has been active in the TED community and is the founding curator of TEDxKC, one of the largest independent TED events in the world.
