What do you do after your congressional career is finished?

In the first part of Wednesday's Up to Date, we catch up with two former U.S. congressmen from Missouri, Alan Wheat and Kenny Holshuf, who have returned to Washington as policy advisors on behalf of a local law firm.

Guests:

  • Alan Wheat was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1982 and served until 1995. He served on the Rules Committee. He was vice president of Public Policy and Government Relations with CARE. Wheat also worked as deputy campaign manager and director of public liaison for Clinton-Gore '96.
  • Kenny Hulshof served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 12 years (1997-2009), representing Missouri’s Ninth Congressional District. He served on the Ways and Means Committee and was a member of the Health and Trade subcommittees, as well as the Budget Committee. Prior to his congressional career, he served as a special prosecutor in the Office of Missouri Attorney General.
