No one says that caring for a sick relative is easy, especially when Alzheimer’s disease is involved. However, the day to day struggles of caregivers are often lost in the shuffle.
In the first part of Wednesday's Up to Date, we talk with local author Deborah Shouse and her partner, Ron Zoglin, about her book, Love in the Land of Dementia: Finding Hope in the Caregiver’s Journey, and the difficulties she faced while caring for her mother in this kind of situation and how she hopes her story will help others in the same boat.

- Deborah Shouse is a writer, speaker and editor. She donates all proceeds from her book to Alzheimer's-related causes.
- Ron Zoglin works with Deborah Shouse, leading personal storytelling and creativity workshops for organizations such as Hallmark, United Way, Americare, International Association of Administrative Professionals, Quintiles and the Kauffman Foundation. Shouse and Zoglin have performed her writings for Alzheimer’s Associations and caregivers groups in the United States and around the world.
