For hundreds of classic movies in danger of being forgotten, the Film Noir Foundation is here to save the day. The organization is dedicated to preserving and restoring 35 millimeter films for future generations, as well as maintaining noir culture.
This weekend, the association is hosting the second-annual Noir City Kansas City, a film festival featuring 1950's era screenings, burlesque performances and a pop-up Noir City nightclub. The screenings will take place at Alamo Drafthouse, and the nightclub will be Friday night at The Chesterfield bar, adjacent to the theater.
Steve Kraske spoke with event organizers and performers on this edition of Up To Date.
