Post-Election Cooldown, And The KC Community Raising HIV Awareness

It's been three weeks since the election, and public reactions are still hot. Today, Kansas City's own David Von Drehle, editor-at-large for Time magazine, treads the political aftermath. Then, with World AIDS Day coming up on Thursday, December 1, we look at how some local organizations are increasing awareness and access to treatment of HIV and AIDS among the black community.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
