Segment 1: River of Refuge is a nonprofit organization that helps transition homeless families into permanent housing.
River of Refuge had a history of helping families living in motels before it offically opened at Park Lane Hospital that had been vacant for a decade. For the two years it's been there, leadership has shared resources and knowledge with the Two Rivers Psychiatric Hospital next door. All that will end when the hospital closes next month, leaving an empty building. We asked the founder of Rivers of Refuge about safety concerns and how it will affect plans to build more units for the homeless in February.

Ron Stallworth was the first black detective in the Colorado Springs police department. Today, he's known for the memoir "BlacKkKlansman: Race, Hate, and the Undercover Investigation of a Lifetime." Stallworth recalled how he infiltrated the Klan then, along with screenwriter Kevin Willmott, discussed how the book became the award-winning film.
