It wasn't Will Shields or Otis Taylor, but another former member of the Kansas City Chiefs will enter Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.Known for his strength, Curley Culp defined the play of the nose tackle: in the middle of the defense, nose to nose against the opposing team's center.
Culp remembers it took more than one player to contain him.
"Sometimes two, sometimes three, and sometimes four just depending on what the offensive team felt like they needed to do to neutralize the middle of the line," says Culp.
That allowed Hall of Fame linebackers Bobby Bell and Willy Lanier to make plays.
Culp is the ninth Chiefs connection - from the team that won Superbowl IV in 1970 - to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
