On Tuesday, Up to Date is partnering with Central Standard to bring two hours of live coverage of this year's CityAge New American City conferencein session at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
In the first portion of Tuesday's program we'll talk with Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield and Mike Burke, chair of the Mayors' Bistate Innovations Team about how cities use high-speed internet service to move their city's residents, businesses, and governments forward, and what Kansas City can look forward to with Google Fiber's gigabit residential service.
In the second portion of our hour, we'll talk about the future of transportation and how technology can help encourage smarter growth. Marsha Andeson Bomar, Senior Principal and Transportation Ambassador for Stantec talks about her firm's work helping municipalities develop their transportation infrastructure, while Roger Millar, Vice President of Smart Growth America talks about how his organization helps state and local governments develop sustainable cities through well-planned public transit and walkable neighborhoods.
We'll also visit with Zia Yusuf, CEO of Streetline Inc., the leading global provider of sensor-enabled Smart City solutions about his company's software that helps you find a parking space, and William Knapp, COO of car2go North America, a shared-car rental car service.
Finally, Frank Byrne, executive director of the Kansas City Symphony explains the art of applause during an orchestra concert. The subject became the talk of the arts community earlier this week.
