The barbecue pulled pork tacos were a favorite during Up To Date's taste testing. L'École Culinaire-Kansas City chefs will be serving them up at the Missouri Grown Bistro and Market during the Missouri State Fair."

Segment 1: Buying school supplies and clothes can be a struggle but local programs are available to help.

Outfitting a first-grader in the Kansas City Public Schools with supplies can run in the neighborhood of  $40 ... and that's not counting clothes costs. It's an expense that not every family can meet and if there's more than one child going to school, the cost can be unmanageable. Representatives from area school districts addressed the necessity of these supplies and what assistance is available to help send children to the first day of school with the items they need.

Segment 2, beginning at 23:09: Kansas City cooking school partners with Missouri Department of Agriculture to showcase state food producers.

You could go straight for the funnel cake stand at the Missouri State Fair beginning this week, or you could head over to the Missouri Grown Bistro and Market for crunchy French toast.  At lunchtime will it be a hot dog or barbecue pulled pork tacos? Members from L'École Culinaire - Kansas City brought some of the food they'll be serving at the bistro and explained the work behind turning ingredients from the Show-Me State  into dining for visitors to the fair.
