Walking Across Kansas For Stroke Awareness

Dave Spicer

Would you walk 500 miles to raise awareness for a cause? Would you walk 70 more?

On Tuesday's Up to Date, we talk with Sandra and Michael Billinger, a local mother-son duo doing just that, as they hike the length of the state of Kansas to focus attention on and promote research about strokes.

Hear in KC: Students of the KU Medical Center bring their musical talents to the Murphy Courtyard on the Med Center Campus beginning at noon on Thursday, May 9, to raise funds for Walk Across Kansas.  More details about the show are available here.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
