A federal grand jury seated in Kansas City has indicted more than a dozen people in an alleged multi-state operation to get and sell immigration documents. Charges allege the accused provided thousands of bogus identity papers to illegal aliens.
Purported facts are laid out in a press document sent by the office of U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
The charges allege the Missouri Department of Revenue License Fee Office in St. Joseph was used to obtain state drivers’ licenses.
The 14 people arrested and indicted are accused of, for a fee of about $15 hundred, selling illegal aliens birth certificates and Social Security cards taken from real Missourians which were used to prove legitimate residency.
