Bill Cosby Discusses KC Men's Conference

By Sylvia Maria Gross

Kansas City, MO – The comedian Bill Cosby was in town a little over a year ago for one of his series of call-out sessions about personal responsibility. The talk at Penn Valley Community College brought out about a thousand people, mostly African Americans. On that visit, Cosby made a connection with Eric Wesson, a reporter at the Kansas City Call. They've kept in touch and that relationship has led to the development of a whole weekend conference exclusively for men. Wesson stopped by KCUR recently and had a conversation with KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross and Bill Cosby, over the phone from his house in New York.

Among Brothers begins Friday night at Victorious Life Church and will include workshops on family life, job advancement, health and other issues. In addition to Bill Cosby, speakers will include America's Most Wanted Correspondent Tom Morris and Phillip Jackson of the Black Star Project.
