Kansas City, MO – Kansas City's skyline will be broadcast to hundreds of movie theaters across the continent last night, as country music legend Garth Brooks plays the last of nine shows at the new Sprint Center downtown. The most commercially successful singer in recording history retired from regular touring seven years ago, which has made his concert series here a huge event in the country music world. KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross was outside the arena before Brooks' Monday night show, and brought us this audio postcard.
Plus, hear some comments from the Kansas City Star's music critic Timothy Finn, who reviewed all nine shows.
