Kansas City, MO – Pablo Sanhueza moved to Kansas City from Chile and formed the band Makuza, which plays Afro-Latin and Brazilian-influenced jazz. His new project is Luz D'Sol, a collaboration with singer Mocha Jackson, a graduate student at UMKC's business school. Also participating in this rehearsal are guitarist and saxophone player Mauricio Salguero and pianist William Crain.

Luz D'Sol performs Monday night (February 25, 2008) at Jardine's as part of UMKC's Black History Month celebration. KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross attended a recent rehearsal at UMKC's Culture House.
