Artists In Their Own Words: Laura Nugent

Artist Laura Nugent is known for her folk-art style paintings of animals, like birds, in silhouette. An exhibition at the Kansas City Artists Coalition marks a shift to more abstract works.By Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – Nugent grew up on the East Coast, and she's lived all over the country, gaining collectors through showings at art fairs and galleries. Here, we'll listen to the artist describe some of the paintings in an exhibition at the Kansas City Artists Coalition, and how she got to the Midwest.
