Kansas City, MO –

  • Phill Kline has filed the paperwork and paid the fee to run again for Johnson County District Attorney. Kline faces Steve Howe, an assistant district attorney Kline terminated in the Republican primary. Another former prosecutor, Rick Guinn, is running as a Democrat.
  • Non-profit agencies will hold a foreclosure counseling clinic at Penn Valley Community College Thursday afternoon. They say in many cases homeowners can avoid losing their houses.
  • A Shawnee man seems none the worse for wear after a nail gun blasted a 2 1/2 inch nail into the top of his head Friday. He says an emergency room doctor removed the nail with a claw hammer.

  • KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.

Our reporting will always be free for you to read. But it's not free to produce.
