Kansas City, MO – The effort to recall Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser is likely headed to court.

The Kansas City city council approved funding yesterday to retrofit a downtown space to create a regional jail.

There is still no decision by Wyandotte County on two proposals for a Kansas City, Kansas.

Extra inspections of Missouri carnival and amusement park rides have not turned up any significant problems.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon says he will have to "lean up" the 21 and-a half-billion dollar state budget lawmakers sent him a week ago.

Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson is looking at making budget cuts too. But Kansas House Speaker Mike O'Neal says Governor Parkinson should cut public schools to spending to cover the shortfall.
