Kansas City, MO – Like many R& B artists, Angie Stone started out singing at her church in Columbia, South Carolina. She paid her dues as a rapper and worked with Lennie Kravitz in a group called Vertical Hold. In her 1999 solo album "Black Diamond," what makes her sound unique is her ability to interpret classic R&B sounds in a fresh new way. KC Currents' Susan Wilson caught up with Angie Stone when she was in Kansas City for last week's Rhythm and Ribs festival. Susan also spoke to some fans who told her about what brought them out.
