Brownback Chief Of Staff To Resign

Gov. Sam Brownback's chief of staff is resigning to accept a position with the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, the administration announced Monday. Landon Fulmer will step down Jan. 5.

Jon Hummell, Brownback's policy director, will replace Fulmer. He will continue to also serve as policy director until the administration names a successor.

Fulmer has been chief of staff since April 2012.

“Landon has been an integral part of my team for many years, both in Kansas and in Washington D.C.,”  Brownback said in a release. “I am grateful to him for his leadership and commitment to serving the people of Kansas. We will miss Landon and wish him well in this new endeavor.”

The Brownback Administration also announced the appointment of Chuck Knapp as Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer's chief of staff. The position has been vacant since March.
